We are firmly of the opinion that all sheep deserve a happy retirement for they have earned it. 🐑

Founded by Andy Bailey, former dairy farmer, sheep first came to Mirkwood as a means to keep the grass trimmed. 5 started out and as of writing, the flock currently stands at 55!

The Mirkwood Home for Retired Sheep is supported entirely by the generous donation of time and financial support from a dedicated fan base. Find out how you can help here…

How You Can Help

There are plenty of jobs, from daily care and maintenance to bigger projects, to just sending a few coppers to keep the boys and girls in Rich Tea biscuits…

What We Do

Our ethos is simple. To provide a peaceful and loving environment to sheep who, for whatever reason, need a quiet place to live out their days.
